Purpose
The incumbent is responsible for the profitable growth of the Industrial Gas (PGG) businesses in the geographical area assigned to him/her. He/she will have to win new business. He/she will develop new business for the direct channel. He/She will increase revenue from the sale of gases from existing and new accounts from the assigned area. Manage existing accounts and maintain relationship with them.
Nature and Scope
The job holder is Business Development Executive reporting to Area Manager/ Business Manager. The job holder needs to pursue new business aggressively according to the business objectives set by our company. He/She needs to have strong selling and presentation skills to do the job effectively. He/She also need frequent discussion internally with peers and also other departments including CSR, Billings, MB and Credit Management.
He / She is required to maintain existing customers and at the same time developing new accounts in a targeted area or sector. He / she is to continuously provide pre and post sales services to the existing and new customers, like product training, technical support and advice. From time to time, he / she is required to perform any other duties and responsibilities as directed by their superiors.
The job holder will have to do the planning, lead and organize discussion and implement business plans to grow the new businesses profitably to meet department’s overall business returns. He/she also needs to meet his/her superior minimum once a week to discuss market challenges, business plans to meet budgets as well as planning market strategies to counter competitors.
The major challenge to the job holder is the market competition. The job holder needs to be very aggressive and also tactful when confronting with these competitors. He/she will have to be very experienced, making frequent visits to the marketplace to ensure new customers understand well and accept our company’s products and offerings.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
To be responsible for sales of PGG and to achieve target set in the geographical area assigned to him/her
To win new businesses (including new products from existing customers) To prepare business proposal and make presentation to potential customers
To identify new business opportunities from the industrial listing or any other source of information and to prospect competitors’ customers through “cold-calling”.
Pro-active stewardship of customers through regular and planned phone calls with all key decision making contacts in order to retain existing customers and grow portfolio in the geographical area assigned to him/her.
Supporting the implementation of the price increase programs. Defending the general price increase (GPI) at enquiring customers; initiating and negotiating price increase proposals at customers where necessary
To work with credit team and check on the prospects financial background before signing the business. To ensure collection target is met.
To follow-up on lost business and work our strategies to re-gain them.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Diploma/Degree in any business discipline.
To have at least 2 to 3 years in sales and technical experiences for construction, sheet metal industry or metal fabrication.
A positive and can do attitude is a must
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Able to work independently and possess a good team working spirit
Knowledge of Microsoft Office application
Driving license with possession of car
Good communication skill in English. Knowledge of all three major languages (English, Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese) is an added advantage.
