At our Cascades facilities in Pryor, Oklahoma you can develop your full potential, sustainably, by applying your expertise within the Cascades Tissue Group of our team as the Electronic Controls Engineer:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and implement electrical control systems for pulp and paper machinery, emphasizing the integration and configuration of Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software engineers, and project managers, to ensure seamless project execution with a focus on DCS integration within pulp and paper mill processes.
  • Create and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts, aligning with the specific requirements of pulp and paper manufacturing and DCS specifications.
  • Program and configure PLCs and HMIs, ensuring compatibility with DCS systems and optimizing control for pulp and paper processes.
  • Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of control systems, with a particular emphasis on DCS functionality within the context of pulp and paper production.
  • Engage with clients in the pulp and paper industry to understand their unique requirements and deliver tailored solutions, incorporating DCS technologies.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements, integrating cutting-edge DCS technologies into control system designs relevant to pulp and paper manufacturing.
  • Provide technical support during the installation and commissioning of control systems, with expertise in DCS implementation for pulp and paper mill environments.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Paper mill or other industrial manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of various electrical sensors, switches, controllers, instrumentation, transmitters, automated valves, calibrations, industrial communications, robotics, motion control and AC/DC control power
  • Programming experience including the ability to create, monitor, modify PLC and DCS control logic.
  • Ability to work with plant personnel, engineering groups, and outside contractors to ensure the proper execution of work.
  • Prioritization of time and work.
  • Use of self-initiative and independence to complete tasks with urgency and meet deadlines.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial technology, or other related degree or a vocational certificate/diploma in electronic controls/instrumentation/technician. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • 1-3+ years’ experience as an electrical maintenance technician in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
