Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Upfit Tech at Metro Emergency Upfitters in Pryor Creek, OK. The Upfit Tech will be responsible for installing and assembling emergency vehicle equipment, conducting quality checks, troubleshooting electrical systems, and ensuring the functionality of vehicle upfitting components. Training
Technicians will be trained on-site at our OKC location in preparation for employment at the new MEU Pryor Creek location inside the MidAmerica Industrial Park. Grand opening of the MEU Pryor Creek location TBA.
Qualifications
• Proficiency in vehicle equipment installation and assembly • Experience in troubleshooting electrical systems • Strong attention to detail and quality checks • Knowledge of emergency vehicle upfitting components • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment • Excellent communication and teamwork skills • Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment • Previous experience in automotive or electrical work is a plus

Qualifications Talents
• Replace and clean electrical or electronic components. • Run new speaker and electrical cables. • Diagnose or repair problems with electronic equipment, such as sound, navigation, communication, and security equipment, in motor vehicles. • Cut openings and drill holes for fixtures and equipment, using electric drills and routers. • Inspect and test electrical or electronic systems to locate and diagnose malfunctions, using visual inspections and testing instruments, such as oscilloscopes and voltmeters. • Install equipment and accessories, such as stereos, navigation equipment, communication equipment, and security systems. • Remove seats, carpeting, and interiors of doors and add sound-absorbing material in empty spaces, reinstalling interior parts. • Splice wires with knives or cutting pliers, and solder connections to fixtures and equipment.

Technician level advancement
Associate Technician Hourly Range $16-18 • Basic tool knowledge • Identify specific tools and know how to use them • Demonstrates proper soldering techniques • Complete soldering class • Perform soldering test • Demonstrates proper vehicle tear down methods and best practices • Basic product knowledge • Able to identify and explain what it does • Demonstrates proper installation techniques
Technician Hourly Range $18-22 • General vehicle upfit product knowledge • Product placement • Understands importance of placement • Basic Programming • Able to set up hardware menu • Able to set relays up for lighting • Set siren tones • Understand priorities • Set dependency • Demonstrates proper vehicle installation techniques and best practices • Understanding basic troubleshooting principles • Able to use a multimeter • Perform a parasitic draw test • EVT Certification
Senior Technician Hourly Range $22-27 • Advanced vehicle upfit product knowledge
• Advanced Programming • Able to install horn ring and rumblers • Virtual buttons • CAN functions • Able to program without supervision • Demonstrates proficient use of industry tools • Demonstrates proficient installation techniques and best practices • Can perform quality control reviews with limited supervision and < 3% come-back rate • Vehicles that come back within a 30-day time frame with an installation issue
Staff Technician Hourly Range $27+ • Master level vehicle upfit product knowledge • Ability to program on different brand controllers • Has the knowledge on compatibility between products • Demonstrates the ability to train on product knowledge and installation techniques • Can perform quality control reviews with limited supervision and < 1% come-back rate • Vehicles that come back within a 30-day time frame with an installation issue
