Position Overview: The Stockroom Manager and Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for overseeing stockroom operations, monitoring and analyzing inventory levels, optimizing purchasing processes, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in data analysis, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams. The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or a related field, and at least 2 years of experience in supply chain analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inventory Analysis and Management:

- Monitor and analyze inventory levels to identify and address issues such as overstock, stockouts, and slow-moving inventory.

- Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory turnover and reduce carrying costs.

- Utilize data analytics tools to forecast demand and ensure adequate supply levels.

2. Purchasing Optimization:

- Analyze purchasing patterns and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities.

- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable supply and negotiate favorable terms.

- Collaborate with procurement to streamline purchasing processes and reduce lead times.

3. Data Collection and Reporting:

- Collect, analyze, and report on supply chain metrics such as inventory accuracy, order fulfillment rates, and supplier performance.

- Provide regular reports and insights to the Supply Chain Manager and other stakeholders to support decision-making.

4. Process Improvement:

- Identify inefficiencies in supply chain processes and propose improvements.

- Implement best practices in supply chain management, leveraging Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain operations.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

- Work closely with production, sales, and customer service teams to understand their needs and align supply chain strategies.

- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency in supply chain activities.

6. Compliance and Risk Management:

- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including ISO 9001.

- Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain to ensure continuity of supply and business operations.

7. Stockroom Operations:

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the stockroom, ensuring all products are properly organized, inventoried, and accounted for at all times.

- Conduct routine maintenance of storage facilities to ensure they are clean, organized, and safe for storing goods.

- Communicate with vendors regarding order status or requesting additional information about products that require special handling procedures.

- Prepare reports to summarize inventory levels and activity within the stockroom.

- Create labels, packing slips, and other shipping documents to ensure accurate identification of items during shipping.

8. Staff Management:

- Hire, train, and supervise staff working in the stockroom.

- Assign tasks to employees, provide direction on how to complete tasks, and evaluate their performance.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in supply chain analysis or a related role.
  • Previous experience in stockroom management is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems).
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles, including inventory management, procurement, and logistics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Proficiency in using supply chain software and tools (e.g., IFS ERP System).

INTERACTION WITH OTHERS: Reports to the Vice President. Must accurately receive and comprehend instructions from supervisors, seeking clarification when necessary. Maintains regular communication with various departments (Sales, Production, etc.), demonstrating cooperative spirit and collaboration within the organization.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Primarily operates in a climate-controlled office setting with occasional exposure to manufacturing environments involving moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Noise levels typically range from quiet to moderate. The role also involves work in an industrial production area for a manufacturer of refrigeration and HVAC equipment, with constant exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicles, high noise levels in some areas, and extreme temperatures in both winter and summer.
