Role Overview: The Expeditor is responsible for ensuring that all parts for jobs are picked and delivered, adjusting BOMs, providing customer service, and performing cycle counts. This role is vital to maintaining smooth operations and efficient production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Part Picking and Delivery:

  • Use pick lists to gather all items needed for jobs and label carts.
  • Deliver shortages to jobs promptly and accurately.

2. BOM Adjustment:

  • Read and understand bills of material to make necessary adjustments.

3. Inventory Management:

  • Shelve parts that are received.
  • Issue parts from the tool room and inventory the tool room.
  • Pull in baskets with excess parts and reshelve. Bring back empty baskets to fill.
  • Check for overflow on all special parts.
  • Perform cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.

4. Tool Management:

  • Issue tools to all new employees.
  • Check tools back in for all terminated employees.

5. Safety and Cleanliness:

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

6. Customer Service:

  • Provide excellent customer service to internal departments, ensuring parts and tools are available as needed.

7. Attendance and Compliance:

  • Attend work as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or as specified by your supervisor.
  • Comply with government regulations, laws, company policies, and company procedures.
  • Complete other tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Desired Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Ability to use Microsoft product software.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative without requiring oversight.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Multi-tasking abilities.
  • Basic math skills are also required.
  • Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch.

Working Environment: Work is performed in an industrial production area for a manufacturer of refrigeration and HVAC equipment. The employee is constantly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is high in some areas. Exposed to extreme temperatures in both winter and summer. Possible stress caused by the pressure of meeting deadlines and product quality standards. Seasonal variations in hours worked based on production demands.
