Position Overview: The Stockroom Manager is responsible for the overall organization, management, and efficiency of the stockroom. This role ensures that inventory levels are maintained, storage areas are safe and organized, and that all incoming and outgoing goods are properly handled. The Stockroom Manager supervises stockroom personnel, communicates with vendors, and works closely with other departments to support the company’s production and operational goals. This position is key to ensuring that the right parts and materials are available when needed to meet production demands.

- Inventory Management and Control
- Oversee inventory levels to avoid shortages and excess, ensuring materials are available for production without overstocking.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards.
- Stockroom Organization and Safety
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe stockroom facilities, ensuring adherence to safety standards and best practices.
- Ensure all incoming goods are inspected and meet quality standards before storage.
- Vendor Communication and Coordination
- Communicate with suppliers regarding orders, delivery times, and any special handling procedures.
- Review purchase orders for accuracy and completeness, coordinating with the purchasing department as needed.
- Supervision and Team Leadership
- Manage and train stockroom staff, providing direction and evaluating performance to ensure efficient operations.
- Delegate tasks, ensuring timely completion of stockroom activities and proper workflow.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare inventory reports, summarize stockroom activity, and provide updates on stock levels to the management team.
- Generate shipping documents and ensure accurate labeling and tracking for outbound shipments.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration
- Work closely with the purchasing and production teams to communicate shortages, lead times, and ETA for critical parts and materials.
- Participate in regular meetings to address production schedules and ensure alignment with company goals.
Desired Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in stockroom or inventory management.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems.
- Strong supervisory skills with the ability to train and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills to ensure coordination across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with a focus on accuracy and meeting deadlines.
INTERACTION WITH OTHERS: Reports to the Vice President. Must accurately receive and comprehend instructions from supervisors, seeking clarification when necessary. Maintains regular communication with various departments (Sales, Production, etc.), demonstrating cooperative spirit and collaboration within the organization.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Primarily operates in a climate-controlled office setting with occasional exposure to manufacturing environments involving moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Noise levels typically range from quiet to moderate. The role also involves work in an industrial production area for a manufacturer of refrigeration and HVAC equipment, with constant exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicles, high noise levels in some areas, and extreme temperatures in both winter and summer.
