Job Title: NAP Intern

Location: RAE Corporation, Pryor, Oklahoma

Position Type: Internship – Summer (8 Weeks)

Role Overview: The NAP Intern program offers a unique, hands-on opportunity to gain exposure to the entire National Accounts Production (NAP) process over the course of an 8-week summer internship. Interns will split their time evenly between working in production and participating in NAP product testing. Interns will rotate through various areas including Panel Setup, NAP Wiring Machine, Prewiring. This internship is ideal for students interested in HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical systems and offers valuable career-building experience in a real-world manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. NAP Production Support (50%)

Assist with hands-on tasks in panel setup, wiring, and component layout.

Operate or observe the NAP wiring machine under guidance.

Support NAP prewiring processes with attention to detail and safety.

Learn to identify electrical components and follow wiring diagrams.

Aid team members in basic assembly and installation tasks.

2. NAP Testing & Quality Exposure (50%)

Shadow testing technicians and learn basic procedures for evaluating HVAC units.

Support the NAP Testing team by preparing equipment for evaluation.

Assist with data gathering, system checks, and documentation.

Observe and support the NAP Commissioning group to understand post-production service processes.

Participate in quality control inspections and documentation reviews.

3. Training & Safety

Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Participate in required safety meetings and technical training sessions.

Learn proper handling of tools and PPE used in NAP areas.

4. General Support & Learning

Complete special assignments or projects assigned by the supervisor.

Accurately track hours and project time in the company’s attendance system.

Build familiarity with manufacturing processes, work independently when appropriate, and be open to cross-training opportunities.

Desired Qualifications

Education & Experience

Current enrollment in an accredited ACR, HVAC, Engineering, or Industrial Technology program.

Previous shop, lab, or hands-on technical experience is a plus.

Skills

Effective communication and listening skills.

Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch.

Attention to detail and willingness to learn.

Basic mechanical or electrical understanding is preferred.

Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.

Working Environment:

Work is performed in a dynamic industrial environment, often on the production floor or in the test lab. Interns will be exposed to mechanical parts, tools, moderate to loud noise levels, varying temperatures (especially in summer), and live power equipment under supervision. Safety and PPE standards are strictly enforced.
