Requirements Responsible for the quality of processes and product outputs. Activities include: • Defining and specifying activities, processes, and standards to fulfill the quality requirements for a service or manufactured material, component, or product. • Auditing, monitoring, and determining the quality of processes or outputs, either against defined internal and/or regulatory standards. • Product integrity testing, coloring, fitting and pattern and wet processing to ensure orders are in compliance with corporate/customers' quality requirements. • Reporting on process deviations and defects.
Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance Lead (QA) associate is responsible for the overall quality of the product in the value-added departments. This is a hands-on role for quality control and will work closely with the value-added, inventory control, merchandising and receiving departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for verifying and assuring all mandated HACCP checks and measures and supporting documents as outlined in the corporate SOP in an accurate and timely manner and documenting in Audit Comply.
Responsible for Preoperational Inspection including ATP Testing and coaching QA techs id and when needed on pre-op programs and procedures.
Responsible for enforcing colleagues are in full compliance with GMP’s, HACCP, and SOPs while monitoring the flow of the commodities through the process flows through various Value-added departments. Work with the leadership team with coaching opportunities, training and development.
Operation of metal detector
Responsible for working with local onsite leadership, assisting with training regarding continuous learnings of various food safety programs and compliance.
Responsible for adhering to and maintaining compliance within the Value-added division of Critical Control Points. Identify any product, processes or equipment that are not within acceptable tolerances and respond with immediate corrective action.
Ensure that all storage chemical cages and cabinets always remain secure.
Communicate immediately with the Value-Added Leadership team regarding any issues so they may be immediately addressed and corrected.
Responsible for Environmental testing procedures being completed according to the specific SOP.
Education Required:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Experience Required:
Familiarity with produce or foodservice experience is preferred.
HACCP Training.
Familiarity with GMP’s, SOP’s.
1 year produce experience in a quality assurance role.
Technical Skills and Abilities:
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Basic mathematical operations (counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
Ability to communicate clearly (verbally and in writing).
Detailed-Oriented
Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Strong reading, writing and problem-solving skills.
The ability to bend, stoop, climb, and lift overhead.
The ability to manipulate cutting tools such as knives and mandolins safely and effectively.
Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.
Must be able to work safely and effectively in confined spaces.
Ability to operate processing machinery.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to work in a very cold and wet environment for extended periods of time.
Must have availability to work various shifts in AM or PM. Shifts will frequently include overtime.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, an associate regularly works near moving mechanical apparatus and is regularly exposed to vibration and moderate to high noise levels. The work environment includes congested and high traffic areas, slippery floors, working alongside forklifts, single pallet jacks, electric walk behind jacks and hand carts. Walking and working is done on concrete flooring. Some duties are performed in the warehouse and will require work to be done in varying climates. Temperatures range from 30s in coolers. The shift end-time fluctuates with the employer’s daily needs. The associate occasionally works in high and precarious places.
