Job Duties include (but not limited to) operating machines or assemble. A laborer on the shop floor would do the basic assignments of a certain job he or she was assigned. Examples would be putting bolts and nuts on equipment for assembly or loading and unloading materials from the machines. During the course of the day, this position will occasionally need to walk, stand, bend at neck/waist, squat, climb stairs or ladder, kneel, crawl, twist at neck/waist, and reach above and below shoulder level. Machinery used would be saws, press brakes, etc. Laborers are expected to learn safe and proper operation of forklift, telehandler and yard crane.
