About the role
The Senior Accountant will perform and coordinate multiple accounting duties within the company, serve as a backup to payroll processing, and assist with the monthly closing process. A successful candidate will have a solid working knowledge of payroll systems, ERP systems, sales and use tax, cost accounting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. This team member should be forward-thinking while ensuring the day-to-day management of the accounting processes within a growing company. This is a full-time position with benefits and with pay depending on experience.
Responsibilities
· Coordinating accounting functions and programs including implementation of NetSuite.
· Checking and reconciling inventories and processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
· Properly paying federal, state, and local taxes while ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time with ADP payroll processing across multiple states.
· Tracking and paying sales and use tax across multiple states.
· Responding to customer inquiries, vendor inquiries, and internal inquiries.
· Assisting in administrative and clerical needs of finance and purchasing departments.
· Recommending and implementing improvements to systems and processes.
· Preparing financial analyses and reports.
· Performing other duties, assignments, and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
· 3+ years of accounting experience preferably for a manufacturing company.
· Punctual, dependable, and professional.
· Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP.
· Payroll experience preferred.
· Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet monthly deadlines.
· Strong financial analysis skills and communication skills.
· Ability to interact with multiple departments.
· Experience in federal tax credits including Research & Development credits preferred.
· Strong computer skills including the use of Microsoft Outlook and Excel, ERP systems, and other applicable programs.
· NetSuite experience preferred.
· Desire to learn and grow with the company.
